Hannah led Chocolate Silk Pie onto the track, tacked up in her English saddle and bridle. The stallion pranced anxiously at the end of his reins, choppin' the bit. Hannah pranced her helmet on her head and snapped it for safety, then pulled the stirrup irons down. She mounted Chocolate, as he continued to prance. Finally, she got him still and lined up for a sprint down the track. She silently counted to three in her head and clicked her tongue. In a split second, the high sprung colt burst into a gallop, hooves pounding in the soft dirt track and throwing up clumps of it. His nostrils flared as they went onto the stretch, close to the first turn. The stallion's neck was stretched out, auds laid back against it, muscles underneath his chocolate coat moving violently. He began breathing hard as Hannah leaned into his sprint, leaning over his withers, hands placed far up his neck.
